Telecom provider, 9mobile, has partnered with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Education Secretariat to organize an essay contest for senior secondary school students across the country, starting in Abuja.

The company, which announced a call for applications during a virtual press conference, said it was taking part in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Humanitarian Organization’s International Literacy Day. culture (UNESCO).

On the rationale for the initiative, Executive Director, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, 9mobile, Abdulrahman Ado, reiterated the company’s commitment to strengthening the country’s education sector.

Represented by Public Relations Manager, Chineze Amanfo, the ED said the firm understands that young people are the foundation of change, so it is imperative to support them when it comes to cultivating values ​​that promote sustainability environmental.

He pointed out that these values ​​will shape their behaviors to engender a better society, adding that this year’s competition is for upper secondary school students in Abuja only.

Ado said 9mobile carefully assembled a panel of judges made up of professionals with impeccable backgrounds to evaluate the entries.

According to the official, the competition, which has the theme: “How does overpopulation become a global pandemic for the environment?” will focus on environmental awareness and sustainability. He added that the deadline for submitting applications was September 22, 2022.

Director of Administration and Finance, Secretariat of Education, Federal Capital Territory, Leramoh Abdulrazaq, representing Secretary of Education, Sani Dahir El-katuzu, praised 9mobile for the initiative, pledging to support the success of the contest.
