ALIGARH: Aligarh Muslim University will hold an annual essay writing competition in India for university and college students on “Sir Syed and Cultural Pluralism” in English, Hindi and Urdu.

WBU Public Relations Officer Mr. Omar Saleem Peerzada said that the competition is conducted in three languages, English, Urdu and Hindi and first, second and third prizes will be awarded in three languages ​​separately.

“The Essay Writing Competition is open to bona fide students from all Indian universities and colleges, however, students up to Class XII are not eligible to enter the competitions,” he added.

Students interested in participating in the Hindi and Urdu essay competitions can write their essays on “Sir Syed Aur Sanskritik Bahulwad” and “Sir Syed Aur Saquafati Takseeriyat” respectively.

There are three cash prizes in each language, first prize for Rs. 25,000/-, second for Rs. 15,000/- and third for Rs. 10,000/- and the winners will be congratulated at the memorial meeting of Sir Syed Day on October 17.

Mr. Peerzada said the essay should be mailed to the Public Relations Office, AMU, Aligarh-202001 and the electronic copy by email to [email protected] no later than October 1, 2022. Further details may be obtained from the announcement available on AMU website, www.amu.ac.in.
