DVIDS – News – Photo essay: Fort McCoy Logistics Readiness Center foodservice warehouse operations continue at a steady pace
Employees supporting the Fort McCoy Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) Food Program Management Office and LRC Supply Livelihood Management Office are shown on October 14, 2021, during food service operations in Building 490 in Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.
The facility’s restoration team ensures that its mission is fulfilled every day according to established standards.
This team includes the Food Program Management Office and the Subsistence Supply Management Office (SSMO); full food service contractors; and food suppliers, such as Sysco Foods of Baraboo, Wis.
The SSMO, for example, is one of the most active organizations at any major training event. The SSMO has a small staff and these personnel order, receive and distribute all the food and rations necessary for each exercise as well as for units conducting a weekend, prolonged combat or annual training.
Fort McCoy’s motto is to be the “Total Strength Training Center”.
Also, located in the heart of the Upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only US Army installation in Wisconsin. The facility has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 service members from all departments almost every year since 1984.
