Liberia: NEC and Di launch election essay contest

The National Election Commission (NEC), in conjunction with Democracy International (DI), has officially launched its Election Essay Contest for Election Officials who participated in the 2020 Special Senate Elections (SSE) and Representative By-Elections of November 16, 2021 . .

United States Aid for International Development, USAID, is funding the 2022 campaign essay contest.

The Election Officials 500-Word Essay Contest is themed My Duty, My Country, My Future.

According to a statement from the NEC on Monday, poll workers can submit a 500-word essay about their experiences and motivation as poll workers as they relate to their civic duty. The essay can be typed or handwritten.

A statement from the NEC on Monday March 14, 2022 informs the public that the election essay contest begins tomorrow, Tuesday March 15, 2022 and ends on April 22, 2022.

Electronic essays can be submitted to [email protected], while hard copies can be delivered to the Democracy International Liberia office between 12th and 13th streets, Sinkor.

The winner of the 2022 Election Essay will have the opportunity to meet and greet the NEC Board of Commissioners, the United States Ambassador to Liberia, and the USAID Liberia Mission Director.
