Russian professor Tatiana Shaumyan received the Padma Shri award for her contribution to literature and education

Moscow [Russia]Jan 26 (ANI): Tatiana Shaumyan, a Russian scholar and champion of Indo-Russian friendship, receives the Indian government’s Padma Shri award for her contribution to literature and education.
Taking to Twitter, India’s envoy to Russia Pavan Kapoor congratulated Professor Tatiana Shaumyan.
“Warm congratulations to Professor Tatiana Shaumyan, Institute of Oriental Studies (Russian Academy of Sciences) on being awarded the prestigious Padma Shri Prize by the Government of India for your contribution to literature and education and to the deepening of indo-russian friendship #padmaawards,” Ambassador Pavan Kapoor said in a tweet.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Union Home Ministry announced the winners of one of the highest civilian awards 2021 Padma Awards in Education and Literature.
The Padma Awards are given in three categories, namely Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.
No less than 128 Padma awards were given this year. The prizes are awarded in various disciplines/areas of activity, namely art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, commerce and industry, medicine, literature and education , sports, public service, etc.
This year, 32 prizes are awarded in the field of literature and education. The list of winners also includes 10 people from the Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI category. (ANI)
