The 6th Kairouan Arab Poetry Festival concludes its activities


Sharjah 24: Under the high patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme and Sovereign Council of Sharjah, the activities of the 6th edition of the Kairouan Festival of Arab Poetry (KFAP), organized by the House of Poetry in Kairouan, concluded, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, President of the Department of Culture in Sharjah; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, director of the Department of Cultural Affairs, and several other dignitaries, as well as a large number of Tunisian and Arab poets and intellectuals.
The closing day of the festival saw the honoring of different poets from Tunisia and various Arab countries, as well as the awarding of prizes to the winners of the Maison de la poésie competition for the three best poems.

Al Owais and Al Qaseer presented commemorative shields to attendees and parties that contributed to the festival’s success. They also presented prizes to the winners of the Maison de la poésie competition, in support of continuous poetic writing.

Poets attending the sixth session of the Kairouan Arab Poetry Festival expressed their thanks to Sharjah as an incubator for all Arab creators, stressing the importance of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah’s initiative in establishing houses of poetry in the Arab world.

During the closing evening, a poetry evening was organized in which several poets participated by delivering various poems.
