Through the eyes of black women photographers • EBONY
Afropunk is an artistic experience where black music is mixed with an anti-conformist attitude. It’s a come-as-you-art party, where devotees dress their souls on this day, whether they are moved by afro-inspired gods or dashing anarchist divas from the past, like the sister with the trombone headband.
EBONY connected with the star photographers who captured the badass spirit of the festival from a woman’s perspective. Each lenswoman captured the captivating and daring choices, startling beauty and genuine love that permeate festival devotees and performers, in their sultry way.
