“Time for the history books”: Robin, Batman’s sidekick, turns out to be bisexual in new comic

DC Comics has revealed that the Tim Drake version of Batman’s sidekick Robin is bisexual. Robin’s sexuality was revealed in the latest installment of a monthly anthology series titled Batman: urban legends, according to Weekly entertainment.

In the story, Drake reunites with his friend Bernard, who is then kidnapped by a villain. As Robin saves him, Bernard reveals that he wishes he could end his date with Drake.

A few pages later, Bernard asks, “Tim Drake… do you want to go out with me?” Drake responds, “Yeah, I think I want that,” as quoted by the outlet.

Writer Meghan Fitzmartin said Polygon in an interview, “When Dave [Wielgosz] (my editor for Batman: Urban Legends) asked to do another story of Tim, I was delighted. We talked about how Tim Drake was compared to where he was at the time and came to the conclusion that it has to be a story about identity and discovery. What was the next step for Boy Wonder? “

Tim Drake, however, is not the first queer superhero. Some of the other LGBTQ superheroes are Kate Kane (Batwoman), Loki, Bobby Drake (Iceman) and more.

Sharing a preview of Tim Drake’s comic, the writer tweeted, “My goal in writing has been and always will be to show how much God loves you. You are incredibly loved, important and seen.
