Weekend Briefs: Visit the plastic bag art installation, listen to the live poetry reading
The Jellyfish Garden: an artistic installation of plastic bags from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., hosted by the Sustainability Office of the Athens County Courthouse, 8 E. Washington St. Campus Recycling & Zero Waste will have an art installation at the Athens County Courthouse to encourage others to limit their use to use plastics.
“Van Gogh’s influence”Anytime between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., hosted by the Kennedy Museum of Art, 100 Ridges Circle. This exhibition presents works addressing contemporary perceptions of the world by artist Vincent Van Gogh. Masks inside are mandatory and the number of visitors will be limited according to university guidelines.
Interlude: Show of the second year graduates from noon to 4 pm, hosted by the College of Fine Arts of the School of Art and Design, Seigfred Hall 536. Masks and social distancing will be required.
Dallas Craft with Tim Buck 8pm to 9:30 pm, hosted at Donkey Coffee & Espresso, 17 W. Washington St. Enjoy the performance of the styles of these artists on the Donkey Stage.

Athens Farmer’s Market at 9 a.m., hosted by Athens Farmer’s Market, 1002 E. State St. Shop for locally grown and produced food and produce at the Farmer’s Market. The market accepts SNAP and credit cards. Masks are recommended and social distancing protocols are in place.
Poetry reading by Athens Poet Laureate Wendy McVickerat 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Lobby of the Stuart Opera House, 52 Public Square in Nelsonville. McVicker will share his new collection, “Zero, a Door”. Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken 72 hours or less before will be required.
90s party with DJ Barticus at 7:00 p.m. hosted by The Union, 18 W. Union St. Come party with DJ Barticus when the show starts at 8:00 p.m.

Athens Cars and Coffee 8 am to 12 noon, meeting taking place in the Athena Grand parking lot, 1008 E. State St. Visit this month-end auto show and avoid excessive revs or burn-outs.
Okkervil River and Damien Jurado at 6 p.m. hosted by Stuart’s Opera House. The show will follow the appropriate COVID-19 guidelines that are in place at the time of the show.
